Masses of the Holy House

As well as the tradition of pilgrims making their way to the Shrine, priests and parishes have long been encouraged to incorporate devotion to Our Lady of Walsingham into the pattern of life and worship at home.

Even before the Shrine Church and the Holy House was rebuilt in 1931, copies of the image of Our Lady of Walsingham began to appear in the churches of England. Now the image is a focus of prayer in many places throughout the world and members of the Society found throughout the Anglican Communion. Thousands belong to Cell of the Society and all are remembered in the daily prayer of the Shrine.

This booklet contains various masses used in Walsingham and are for the use of Priest and Deacon associates of the Holy House in their own parishes. In particular there are the propers for the Solemnity of Our Lady of Walsingham, celebrated in September each year. Other liturgical services include forms of admission to the Society. The use of these liturgies unite those with a devotion to Our Lady under this ancient title in a very real way, as we ask the Mother of God to lead us to her Son, and invite her to pray for us on our own pilgrim journey.
