Window Cling – Madonna and Child
The Madonna and Child window in the south aisle of St Edmundsbury Cathedral is part of a set illustrating scenes from the New Testament. All windows in the aisles were created according to a scheme conceived in 1882 and designed and made by Clayton & Bell. The project was finally completed in 1925. Such uniformity of design, style and colour of stained glass in unique in the interiors of English Cathedrals. The image has been depicted on Royal Mail stamp.
