The origins of the Celtic Cross are shrouded in the mystery of the Celtic lands. Legends say that a preacher added the sign of the cross to a sacred standing stone which was marked with intricate carvings. The combination of the carvings, and the cross which he engraved gave root to the Celtic cross we know today.
