Terracotta Wall Tile – Saint Brigid's Blessing
St. Brigid of Kildare is one of the patron saints of Ireland. St. Brigid's cross was usually woven from rushes to mark her Feast Day (1st February), the beginning of Spring. The tile includes the first few words of her blessing:
May Brigid bless the house wherein you dwell
Bless every fireside every wall and door
Bless every heart that beats beneath its roof
Bless every hand that toils to bring it joy
Bless every foot that walks its portals through
May Brigid bless the house that shelters you.
