Terracotta Wall Tile – Noah's Ark

The inspiration for this design is a Romanesque wall painting in the abbey church of St Savin sur Gartempe in Poitou, France. Noah and his family appear on the top floor on the ark together with various animals in the floors beneath. The raven and dove from the story appear at the stern and prow of the ark. Words are adapted from the book of Genesis Chapter 7, verse 15 "And they went unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life."
