Pilgrim Badges

A pilgrim badge was a souvenir or devotional token sold at Catholic pilgrimage sites (such as Canterbury, Santiago de Compostela, Walsingham, etc.) that pilgrims could wear on their clothing, hat, or staff to show they had completed a pilgrimage. They often depict imagery associated with the saint, shrine, or relic venerated at that location and were mass-produced especially in the 14th and 15th centuries.
